HOTSPOT Wi-Fi share with Android Devices from Linux Mint 17 Laptops

This is a quick tip to make your laptop as wi-fi hotspot . some people using ap-hotspot which doesnt work for me , so i found this new method which works pretty fine for me

Follow the steps

1.Open Terminal
2. run the command $ sudo synaptic

3 in synaptic search for plasma-nm

4. right click on the plasma-nm and mark for installation

5. Afrer installation finished use Alt + f2

kde-nm-connection-editor

6. select wifi(shared) From the connection manager window

configure with custom names and wPA2 passkeys

Hard Resets and Soft resets for your NOKIA X, Nokia Xl , Nokia X+ ANDROID Phones

1. power off your nokia x
2.now wait for 15-20 seconds
3.now press the power button you will see nokia written on screen
4.now just press the volume up button for 5-6 seconds and poof
you are in nokia android recovery

wipe data ,cache and all from your Nokia ANDROID smartphone

How to Import Google/Gmail Contacts to Nokia X,X+ and XL Nokia Android Phones Working Trick

1. First of all login to Gmail and click on Contacts at the top left side of the page.

2. Now on the menu an option is labeled as More, just click on Export.

3. You will get a pop, here just choose your contacts, and export all your contacts in vCard format.

4. Now copy vCard file to your Nokia X SD card by connecting the phone to your PC.

5. Use ASTRO File manager (preinstalled) to locate the vCard file and tap to open.

6. Once you have done this, your device will start importing your Gmail contacts to your Nokia X.

Unroot Your Nokia X, Nokia XL , Nokia X+

First of all what you need to do for unrooting Nokia X , Nokia XL and Nokia X+ is

1. !oot your phone again with framaroot

2.if you get two supersu then remove that pre installed one with root permission.

3.if there is only one then no problem out there just unroot your phone again with framaroot.

4.BOOM now supersu will get vanished

Root your nokia X+,XL,X

To Root

1. Download the Framaroot.apk on your Nokia X, Nokia X+, or Nokia XL;

2. Use the built-in Astro file manager, and browse to the folder where you downloaded Framaroot.apk, then tap on its icon to install;
3. Upon installation, start Framaroot. There are two root exploits to choose from - "Aragorn" and “Gandalf” - tap on "Gandalf";
4. Now reboot your Nokia X, Nokia X+, or Nokia XL, and you should be rooted.

Android backup

If not enabled, enable developer mode by tapping Settings > About phone > Build number (7 times)
If not enabled, enable USB debugging in Settings > Developer options > USB debugging
Execute on your computer
```
adb backup -apk -shared -all
```

This should hopefully create backup.ab with all of your apps, OS, and data. Later, after reflashing with Android (or rooting / unlocking) you will be able to use

adb restore backup.ab

to restore all of your data.

Reset Android Smartphone Pattern/Password/Pin lock

It sucks when you forget your passwords But Gmail account can save you. But what for those who don't have it?
There are some methods to reset them
Wiping data being most popular
But, why loosing precious data when there is a easier or easiest to do method

This is a new method found and tested by me on a rooted device but the resources it uses are available to be used without root too, so it may work on unrooted devices too.

This method uses Aroma File Manager by amarullz in Recovery Mode of the device to delete the password database related files. So, it should work on all devices!

So, first you need to download AROMA FILE MANAGER from here

Instructions:-

1. Download Aroma File Manager.
2. Place it in the root of your sdcard(Preferred)
3. Reboot into recovery
4. For CWM:

Mount all partitions (including sd-ext if you have it)

And flash Aroma File Manager from sdcard

For stock recovery(Samsung e3):

In stock recovery, there is no option to mount partitions, so

Flash Aroma File Manager, Click on menu option and go to settings

Select Mount All Partitions

Now, exit from Aroma File Manager and reflash it.

Now, you will see each partition is mounted

5. Now, go to /data/system

Note : If you have sd-ext mod to increase internal storage, go to /sd-ext/system/

6. Now, If you have to remove pattern lock, long press and delete gesture.key

If you want to remove password, delete password.key
7. Exit the Aroma File Manager
8. Reboot

3. Make LibreOffice look great

The menu-bar of Libreoffice looks ugly under KDE. But there is an easy way to fix it.
1. Remove libreoffice-kde4 packages
2. install kde-gtk-config
3. install gtk3-engine-oxygen
Now, go to desktop settings > application appearance > Gtk configuration
Here select oxygen-gtk in both GTK2 and 3 themes. Now, you Gtk apps will look beautiful and KDEfied.

4 Get your Android device working under Linux Mint(KDE)

Independent developers have done an incredible job at bringing Android support to GNU/Linux. In order to be able to connect and access your Android devices from KDE's Dolphin, search for kio-mtp (select the version of Linux Mint you are running). If the package is still in 'testing/unstable' stage, LInux Mint will ask you to deliberately click on the button 'Show unstable package' so that you are aware of the fact) and then the rest it one-click install.
It will also add and enable that repo where the packages is hosted so you can get future updates automatically. Do the same process for 'libmtp' and once both these packages are installed, reboot your system. Now you can connect and access your Android devices from Linux Mint

Download the firmware file and save the same on your computer.

Don’t unzip the update file.
Take the USB cable and by using the same connect your tablet with the computer.
Select the downloaded file and copy-paste it from your PC to your handset.
Disconnect the devices by unplugging the USB cord.
Turn off your Tab 2.
Reboot into recovery mode.
Note: the recovery mode can be entered by pressing on Power, Volume UP and Home buttons at the same time.
From the recovery menu select “wipe data factory reset” and “wipe cache partition”.
Return by selecting “+++go back+++”.
Select “install zip from SD card” followed by “choose zip from SD card”.
Pick the Slim Bean ROM file from your tablet.
Start the flashing procedure.
Wait while the update is being applied.
In the end, from recovery select “+++go back+++” followed by “reboot system now”.
Note: if the first boot takes longer than usual, don’t panic there is nothing wrong with your handset.
Note 2: if your tablet will get stuck in a boot loop, reboot into recovery and wipe the system once more.
Note 3: if you don’t like the new software then reboot into recovery and choose to restore the previous OS – only if you had applied a Nandroid backup first.

ADB:-
Android Debug Bridge
Very useful program made itself by Google for Programmers and developers. Its based on command line and basically communicates with your Android to respond to certain commands. There is vast amount of knowledge about adb but its most useful commands limit to getting:-

Logcat:-
A real time log of what is happening in background of our devices. It is really useful for developers to see which component has malfunctioned and helps to narrow down their search for what failed and what needs to be fixed. Several times users are asked to give logcats of their devices which are giving errors. We will go in detail that how to get logcats in every and easiest way possible.

App Installation and Management:-
adb proves really handy if you want to install apks directly from your PC or want to batch install or delete them.

Shell Execution:-
You must have heard of Terminal Emulator. It is an app for android to execute shell commands(linux commands) which are basically present as applets in /system/bin, /system/sbin or /system/xbin(in our case) folders. A very imporant applet called busybox is installed there mainly used for execution of basic commands during root browsing or ROM installation. Many times updater script of ROMs use busybox commands to install it. Well, these commands can be initiated from your device too but they can be initiated from adb also making it easy for programmers.

Pushing and Pulling:-
Most used commands of adb. adb makes it a piece of cake for new device developers to get an ideo of structure and basic knowledge of devices by pulling command. We can pull out i.e copy any files or folders from our devices to our PC, even the root directories without rooting the devices. It help rooters and ROM chefs of new devices to get an idea and implement their mods on them. Pushing is also very useful command. It copies your files and folders from PC to your device. Very useful in pushing some /system apps and other things

Remounting and setting permissions

Basic commands:-
Of-course basic commands such as rebooting and rebooting in recovery mode and download mode are supported.
